I’ve always been a die-hard Zelda fan, it’s no secret. I’ve been in love with the series for almost 20 years now, and spent some of my happiest memories immersed in the land of Hyrule. This piece is based on Ocarina of Time, the n64 classic.

I watched a lot of vintage cartoons as a kid, including the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon from the 1960s. The artists behind it, Roy Morita and Alex Anderson had a way of animating the characters that defied the show’s modest budget, and oozed humor and personality. The expressive nature of the animation left a big impact on me, and inspired much of my love for mid-century aesthetics.
