As most children who grew up in the early 2000s did, I grew up with Star Wars. Anakin and Padme and all the fun characters from the prequels storied my childhood with lightsaber duels in the backyard until the street lights came on.

For this piece I really leaned into simplicity, wanting to give Anakin a sharp and strong stance, and clean lines. I wanted to mimic and reference the art style of both Clone Wars television shows, the Dave Filoni CGI show, and the Genndy Tartakovsky micro tv series. The latter of which was a huge inspiration to me as an artist as a kid, and remains an influence to this day.
